Specifications
Each Olympic Series Sound Boiler is designed with a three-pass, firetube boiler with enhanced, heat-transfer tubing to provide maximum, thermal efficiency. The combustion chamber is engineered to provide complete and efficient biomass combustion, while minimizing fuel carryover. High-temperature, cast refactory provides superior heat-retention and long-lasting thermal protection for the boiler components.
The boiler is insulated with 2" inuslation and jacketed with an enamel-coated, 20-gauge steel. Each boiler comes in Sound Boiler's standard line of colors, but can be customized upon request.
Installation Instructions
Each installation should follow local building codes outlining boiler-room construction and material requirements. These codes are often based on ASME or NFPA standards, and should be followed to prevent equipment damage, inury and/or death. Details that should be thoroughly reviewed include:
- Floor structural-support
- Draining
- Combustion-air openings
- Boiler access for re-tubing
- Fuel-handling equipment
Please Contact Sound Boiler if we can provide any information to assist with the installation of your Sound Boiler, biomass-combustion system.
Operations
Each Sound Boiler is designed to operate with minimal impact on your day-to-day operations. Operational requirements will vary from site-to-site based on the fuel loading and ash-removal options that are selected. Automated-fuel supply and ash removal will reduce daily hands-on requirements and can be monitored remotely via Sound Boiler's exclusive, control system.
Other boiler operating parameters include inspections of the heat-transfer surface areas, internal insulation and moving parts. These inspections are easily performed and ensure a long operating life for your boiler. Sound Boiler recognizes all boiler systems require some continued maintenance to provide efficient operating equipment, but Sound Boiler has designed a system with a goal to ease this burden and time commitment.
Maintenance
Periodic ash removal will be required. Frequency will depend on the selected boiler size and process requirements (i.e. fuel consumption). Each Sound Boiler comes with an ash-collection bin that can be easily removed from the drop-out section of the boiler during boiler downtime. Other items that may need maintenance or replacement over the life of your Sound Boiler are cast-refractory repairs, screw-feeder replacement and bag replacement (if an air-pollution-control device is included in the supply).
Sound Boiler invites you to our fabrication facility to review the operation and maintenace of our own Sound Boiler system.
